In a separate approach, it is possible to find most tithe area boundaries in modern day mapping products. This is especially true of rural districts, but even in urban environments field boundaries are often preserved in the road network, for example.

The approach here is to take the OS LandLine, or the newer MasterMap product and remove modern features. The boundary structures are then compared to the original tithe map and editied accordingly. The advantage of this system is that the didgital data is already correctly registered to a modern projection system.
